Never one to sit still I have been planning and organizing since the day I could walk and talk! It was no wonder I started my career in the buzz and excitement of hotel's working at London’s finest ‘Park Lane Hotel’ on Piccadilly. I soon progressed and by the time I was 21 I was already heading up banqueting divisions in London & South Africa!
I moved into a corporate career after having my daughter, working in Human Resources and heading up departments of 100+ staff in addition to managing external vendors which has given me great management and negotiation skills, which comes in very handy when working with wedding vendors.
It was important for me to be a professionally qualified Wedding Planner and I achieved ‘highest honors’ in gaining my diploma in Bridal Consulting, as well as holding the title of ‘Professional Bridal Consultant’ with the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC). In addition I am certified with the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada, and in January of 2011 along with 3 other great Montreal Wedding Planners we founded the Association of Montreal Professional Wedding Designers – creating a platform and raising the profile of ‘professional’ Montreal wedding planners.
So some things you may not know about me… I'm British (the accent gives it away lol), I was born close to Windsor Castle on the outskirts of London and moved to Montreal in 2003, I'm also related to ‘Sir Stafford Cripps’ who was the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer to Sir Winston Churchill… I absolutely adore's Reuben’s Smoked Meat Poutine, I love to sing – but sadly can’t and one day I would love to take a course in becoming a ‘Sommelier’.
A native of Québec, I have had a very successful career throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and North America where I've lead very large corporate departments on a global scale at senior Management level, overseeing very large strategic projects and budgets. This is great because my background gives me an amazing level of expertise to manage events and to surpass client`s expectations in planning the biggest event of their lives!
Having lived in so many places for 20 years especially in Hyderabad India, Casablanca Morocco and London UK it has allowed me to develop a keen eye for design, colour and style. Being an avid photographer, travelling the world has opened new creative horizons and allows me to see things differently.
It was also important to me to increase my knowledge in the Wedding Industry, therefore I also became a `Certified` Wedding Planner through the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada and licensed to perform civil marriages across the province of Quebec. My knowledge of the wedding industry coupled with my project management skills and vendor relationships makes me a very calming support resource that exceeds our client’s expectations.
Things you don’t know about me… I am a Watercolour artists and loves to paint whenever I can, in addition to increasing my woodworking skills. Rachel & I built a Log Home in the Eastern Township called “Coombe Lodge” named after the very special “Coombe Abbey” in England where Rachel and I were married. I also love ‘spicy’ food and am continuously searching for a restaurant who can satisfy my palette!
Ever since I was little, I have always been one to jump at the opportunity of planning events; whether it was movie nights, birthday parties, conferences, or fundraisers – I had a love for events of all varieties! As I grew older, my passion for event planning and design grew even more and eventually lead me to fall in love with all thing’s weddings! A perfectionist at heart, I strive to achieve seamlessness and beauty in everything I do.
I graduated from Dawson College’s Community Recreation and Leadership Training program in Spring 2012 and graduated in Human Relations at Concordia University in 2016. Since then, I have been working in Corporate Event Planning in Montreal. This knowledge as well as being a Certified Wedding Planning with the Wedding Planning Institute of Canada has been invaluable to me and has allowed me to attain the proper skills to contribute to the wedding industry.
My favourite aspect of wedding planning is knowing how much work has gone on behind the scenes and being able to see how it all comes together on the big day.
Things you don’t know about me…… I love to spend my free time being inspired by new trends and styles such as baking, swimming, attending concerts, trying new restaurants, and seeing beauty in everything around me! I too am planning my wedding, sadly postponed twice by covid, however I believe that everyone should live their very own fairy tale with a happily ever after and this being said, my favourite wedding moment is when the couple are first announced as being married!
