Above and beyond on the wedding day

Our wedding day was filled with laughter and happiness (and tiredness from waking up early for hair and makeup). And to rewind, there was an unforeseen hick-up the week before the wedding where Candy swooped into the rescue for the stressed out and overwhelmed bride and groom. We hired the team more than a year before the wedding and Candy met with us at least once a month to go over what we needed to do and provided vendor details and options for us. We were more than happy with the vendors we selected for the day! I will preface that I am a naturally angsty bride and so I took on some tasks on my own to appease my mind.

Candy joined us for our rehearsal the day before the wedding, and was the best coordinator on the day of the wedding. My husband and I did not need to look at any schedule on the day, and felt like Holywood stars on the day. She and her assistant did above and beyond for us and we are so thankful for them! We highly recommend their services!

Our experience with Candy and Sally as our Full Wedding Planning Coordinators was absolutely amazing! From our first consultation to the last moment of our special day, they were always very accommodating and have always listened to our priorities. They took the time to understand our vision, offering creative ideas while respecting our budget. As we all know, planning a wedding is not easy and it comes with a lot of challenges and stress. However, with Candy and Sally as our wedding planners, they made sure that we were stress-free and able to fully enjoy our wedding day and handled any unexpected last minute changes with ease. The wedding day was so much fun and we are so thankful that we had Behind The I Do by our side throughout our whole wedding planning journey.

Most amazing and seamless experience!!

Choosing a wedding coordinator to help with our month of and day of planning was the best decision we made. It was very easy to work with Sally and every step leading up to the wedding, she was there to offer helpful tips and suggestions. Sally is very organized, super detail oriented and responsive. She coordinated with all our vendors to make sure all the details were covered. Most importantly, she made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding and we truly did not have to stress about anything. Leading up to the wedding we had no doubts that we could leave everything in Sally’s capable hands. Thank you so much Sally for putting our minds at ease so we could fully enjoy our special day!

Organized and personable DOC

Behind the I Do/Sally was our month/day-of-coordinator for our wedding. They were one of the best decisions we made in our wedding

Part of the reason we hired them was because of their familiarity of the Chinese tea ceremony. Indeed they were integral behind the scenes in switching out the tea cups and giving us a base to work from.

Moreover, Sally was professional and personable. We had two planning meetings on Zoom and she produced a succinct schedule document — much better than schedules that are 6+ pages! During the last weeks, she offered to be cc’d in all emails to vendors which helped us to know she knew what was going on. She attended our rehearsal and helped run it with our pastor. She even brought faux bouquets for me and my bridesmaids to practice. Behind the I Do also has a small rental business and we were able to rent umbrellas just prior to our wedding — fortunately we didn’t need to use them!

Sally executed our vision perfectly. As a partial DIY couple she was indispensable in setting up our decor. We were able to mostly relax the day because Sally was running the show. There were probably many things that happened that we don’t know of because she handled it all with her assistant.

Present. Prepared. And all around awesome.

Candy was able to fine-tune the tiny details and provide us everything we would need. From the big schedules to the tiny reception table affects.

She was there in the literal rainy times (storm happened during our wedding day) to the tough tricky times of trying to secure vendors and materials.

Wedding fairy godmothers!

Candy & Sally were our super fantastic fairy godmothers both during and leading up to our wedding. We booked them as our month-of wedding coordinators. Even when we thought we'd have things pretty well covered before we had our first chats with them; Candy & Sally surprised us (in an absolutely great way) with gently nudging us on thoughtful details and aspects which we should consider for the comfort of our guests and helpers.

We couldn't hear enough amazing complements from both our parents and the elders in our family, who relayed just how much Candy & Sally helped out throughout the day, and put them at ease (with helping the day run smoothly, but also with keeping them informed of what to expect). The two of them work so well together handling both logistics, and decor - they have some serious wedding superpowers.

Some of the highlights:
Candy - helped run our wedding party through the rehearsal - and kindly interceded our officiant to add in helpful details and hints on where to stand, placement, ordering, practice walks/runs, and helped us play our music selections too. When we were worried about possible cold weather and wind during the ceremony (which we wanted to hold outdoors!), she took this all in stride and helped shuttle our guests indoors to outdoors at the last possible moment so that everyone could keep warm for as long as possible. She truly put the comfort of our guests and volunteers first in all instances. We're also pretty thankful she knew how to help us run through our Chinese tea ceremony. Anytime any one had a question, Candy was able to sort it out and come up with a quick solution. Thank you!!!

Sally - Similar to Candy, she was very thorough and detailed on all aspects of the decor we could think of. While we had vague ideas and concepts, she encouraged us to materialize these and helped us to realize our vision on the big day (we had quite a bit of particular details and signage, and everything was executed to a tee!). Even at the end of the night when we encouraged Sally to finally please head home (she'd already done all the amazing work of packing up the decor and helping us with the clean up!); she still insisted on staying and even helped the rest of our wedding party load ourselves and our luggage onto a bus to our B&B - in the heavy rain mind you. We were seriously in awe of her dedication to see us off and help us as much as possible.

Last highlight (amongst the many other things which aren't mentioned here but which they helped us with) - we flipped quite a bit of our decor from our outdoor ceremony to our indoor reception, all during our short cocktail hour. Candy and Sally were amazing with running this all through and getting everything set up in no time at all. We also appreciated their quick thinking on rejuggling items on our itinerary when any of us fell behind. No one noticed at all - which I thought was a real testament to how experienced and reliable they both are.

We can't thank them both enough - and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to have their wedding done run smoothly, beautifully, and stress free! They really helped us enjoy our special day 🥰❤️💖

Candy and Sally were exceptionally helpful throughout the whole process. Even though we only hired them for the “day-of" wedding planning service, both of them assisted us with various pieces of the wedding in preparation for the big day! While I am very hands-on in my planning, due to my inexperience, Candy and Sally walked me through the many questions I had while booking vendors. They also reviewed my tentative schedule of the day to ensure I had allotted enough time for each event.

My husband and I had a Chinese tea ceremony and a religious (Christian) ceremony and Candy and Sally were very familiar with all of the different traditions that we were planning to perform at the tea ceremony and the church ceremony. At our rehearsal, Candy and Sally ensured that everyone was on the same page and walked us through everything that was normally done at such ceremonies. Candy could tell I was a bit nervous at the rehearsal and made sure we ran through the parts I was uncomfortable with many times until I felt comfortable. Because of their leadership, on our wedding
day, the ceremony went very smoothly and we had no hiccups throughout!

On the day of my wedding, my husband surprised me in the middle of the reception with a song he wrote. Candy and Sally separately coordinated with him to ensure that I was surprised, and because my husband was not as involved in the logistics, Candy and Sally scheduled in the surprise on his behalf, orchestrated a plan to get me out of the reception room for a few minutes to set up, and also organized a lot of the background details that I was not involved in for this piece (i.e. sound).

Candy and Sally also exceeded our expectations in coordinating with all of our vendors on our behalf prior to the wedding day, including our DJ, photographer, videographer, etc. to ensure that everyone was on the same page. A number of outstanding items were resolved directly between them without requiring my involvement, which I appreciated given the stress I was already feeling! They also kept us on track during the day, making sure I had enough time to change into my wedding dress, or that we
didn’t go too much overtime on our photography session.

My husband noted that they also assisted with a lot more in the background on the day of the wedding that I was not aware of. They noticed that we had overlooked a few items (i.e. certain refreshments) and went out of their way to purchase them and bring them to the venue. They also coordinated with the banquet manager to rearrange the schedule when there were delays in bringing out the entrees.

After our experience on our big day, we both look back and know that we made the right decision going with Candy and Sally! We were able to enjoy the day so much more without having to worry about the little details or hiccups on the day of the wedding!

Candy and Sally are both amazing people and make a very good team!
Candy is extremely organized. She captured all the details we wanted for our wedding day. She has an outgoing and welcoming personality which helps ease any stressful situation. Sally is extremely creative . She perfected all the small details. She even offered to touch up my DIY flower wall when we were running out of time. I am so grateful to have found them. They were both very supportive throughout the entire planning process. Planning a wedding is very stressful and I can assure everyone that utilizing their professional service is something that you will not regret!

Best wedding planners!

We would highly recommend Candy & Sally for any wedding!! We booked them as month of coordinators and they did a phenomenal job. Leading up to the wedding Candy was extremely organized, communicative and efficient. Day of she made sure everything flowed seamlessly, translating into the perfect day for us. From the rehearsal to the clean up after the wedding the two of them led with calmness, constantly making us feel reassured that our vision would come to life. Candy even made it possible to have an outdoor ceremony during a 30 minute break in the rain, ensuring our number one wish was met! I can't say enough good things about them, if you are on the fence about getting a planner I 100% recommend that you do it and use behind the I do.

The best decision we've ever made

We had hired Sally for their day-of coordination. I am a pretty organized and detail oriented bride so I planned majority of the wedding and needed someone to help me execute my vision. Sally was so supportive for the month leading up to the wedding, helping us nail down our day-of schedule and used their wedding experience to help us make decisions. Compared to a lot of other vendors, Sally was never pushy and never forced us to do anything we didn't want to do - we told her what we were looking for and she made it happen! Since I was a big DIY bride, I had a lot of decor and wedding items which Sally helped set up! It was a huge help as we had boxes of items that we just didn't have time to set up on our own.

Fast forward to the day of the wedding, Sally was there from the morning of us getting ready all the way until the end of the night. In the morning, she took care of all of our details and made sure we were able to eat throughout the day! She managed all of the set up of the decor while we were out taking photos, and helped coordinate my family and friends who were all over the place! Not only that, but she was a key factor and worked with the DJ, venue and photographers to arrange for a special surprise from my wedding party! Any issues that came up, Sally took care of it! Then at the end of the night, Sally packed up all of our decor items which made it so easy for us to pick back up!

Of all of the decisions we've made for our wedding, hiring Sally was probably the best one. We couldn't have handled our wedding without her! Our entire wedding party and our parents were so impressed with how great she was. She's professional, fun and is really the biggest support throughout the longest and busiest day of our lives!
