We hired Carmen over a year ago when we wanted to do a destination wedding. Over the past year, Carmen has been amazing at listening to our questions and concerns, helping us find vendors and places that were within our vision, as well as, within our budget. She was also very experienced and reminded us of details and information that we wouldn't have thought of if we didn't have her with us.

We ended up choosing Hawaii as our destination wedding which isn't her usual stomping grounds. However, Carmen was very effective at connecting with local vendors and providing us a lot of attractive options, for the wedding venue, welcome party and general ideas on how the wedding trip would flow (e.g. preparing welcome bags, procure random items for the wedding, coordinating the videography sessions, etc.). Carmen was also very patient with us and calmly guided us through the process when the planning started getting overwhelming.

Despite not being able to see or visit the venue and set up beforehand, Carmen stayed on top of everything. The whole event, including the welcome party, the wedding ceremony and reception, were beautiful and things just happened seamlessly, thanks to Carmen. At the end of the night, she even helped us save some mementos from the night which we totally forgot as we were inebriated and had a moment of regret the next morning.

We've been to many weddings, but objectively speaking, this one was the best one! My husband and I could not have been happier. Thank you so much Carmen, truly appreciate all that you have done for us!

Carmen planned our recent wedding at Casa loma and working with her was a dream. She was patient, kind, hardworking and on top of everything. She was able to think of details that we would've missed if we planned the wedding ourselves. It is obvious that Carmen has tons of expertise as a wedding planner. She is also very pleasant to work with and a very generous gift giver! Leading up to the big day, Carmen met with us weekly and made sure all vendors were communicated with and kept in the loop. We had Devoted to You as our month of coordination, and Carmen was absolutely fantastic! She came in and took charge, handling all the final vendor communication, organizing the stationery, and coordinating everything on our big day. I recommend her to any couple like us who planned most of the wedding ourselves but needed a pro to make sure things ran smoothly. Our wedding was an afternoon brunch that wrapped up by 3 pm because the venue had another booking right after. But thanks to Carmen, we were able to squeeze in some extra photos before we had to leave as Carmen helped us pack all of our stuff in advance! She even made sure I didn't go hungry or thirsty amidst the craziness of the day. I seriously can't thank her enough and can't even imagine how things would've turned out without her! Highly recommend her to any couple out there!

If you are looking for someone who is responsive, responsible, and who will work hard to make sure no details are overlooked, you will not regret bringing Carmen on to be your wedding or event planner. We hired Carmen to be our wedding planner immediately after our civil ceremony back in October 2020. Fast forward two years, two delays, and one baby later, Carmen delivered a spectacular wedding celebration with our family and friends in the summer of 2022. Throughout the two years leading up to the celebration, Carmen kept in touch with us and kept my husband and I on track with all the elements that required attention and progression.

I am especially grateful that Carmen was able to introduce amazing vendors across a variety of price points during the process, it is so important as budget begin to accumulate that you have a trusted advisor to guide you through vendor selection and helping manage expectations for the quality of service at various price points.

I really can’t say enough positive things about Carmen and her team! We hired Carmen for her month-of coordination services and it was the best decision! I woke up on my wedding day feeling so calm and present because I had so much confidence in Carmen to ensure the day ran smoothly - which it did! From constant communication in the weeks leading up to the wedding, pulling together our day of schedule, coordinating all of our vendors to even helping source last minute decor items, we were so so impressed and had so much fun with Carmen and team on our actual wedding day. When we first started wedding planning. The first thing we thought of was hiring a wedding planner. We googled top 3 wedding planners in the GTA and DevotedToYou was the only wedding planning company who personally responded in a genuine and timely manner.

We first met Carmen in January 2019 and my husband and I felt an immediate connection as
she stood by us until we finally said our I Dos in April 2022 because COVID-19 delayed our wedding two times!

Appreciative of this connection as Carmen was able to help us re-organize and re-book all of our existing vendors each and every time we changed our wedding date.

Due to the nature of COVID-19 my husband and I didn’t even know if we would have our wedding so naturally, we would email Carmen every chance we got and she was so diligent, reassuring, and patient with us. Not to mention she is sensible, fair, and has an optimistic attitude.

What also kept me at ease during the whole wedding process was this amazing google doc spreadsheet that Carmen created. Every detail to names and telephone numbers of the wedding party + wedding vendors, payment schedules, timing of events, etc. It was immaculate!

On the day of our wedding everything went smoothly. Carmen took a video of my husband and I’s first look and I honestly tear up every time I watch it. It’s one of my favourite videos of the day and I am grateful she captured that moment for us.

We met with 2 other wedding planners and ultimately decided on Carmen because of experience and the connection we felt. Thankful for that connection because COVID delayed our wedding 1.5 years and Carmen was incredible in re-booking / re-organizing the wedding twice.

Initially, I was against a wedding planner. "I have planned parties before, how hard can this be?" Having been through it now, I am thankful that we got Carmen. There are so many details involved and decisions to make, that I would not have thought of. Carmen was always available for any questions that my wife and I had. Carmen also has cultivated strong relationships with key wedding vendors (photographer, videographer, florist/decor etc) and was able leverage those relationships to help us achieve my wife's dream wedding.

We have since referred Carmen to two other couples that were extremely pleased with their weddings as well.

If you are getting married: 1. Get a wedding planner / day of coordinator at the very least. 2. Hire Carmen. We are incredibly grateful for Carmen's hardwork to make our wedding a success.

Carmen is a professional and helped us figure out pieces for our wedding. There was one vendor that she recommended, Konrad Czystowski, which we wouldn't have met if it wasn't for Carmen and why we are not giving 5 stars. Although she tried to reach out to him on our behalf, he's continued to be difficult.

I'm writing this to share our experience...so Konrad CZYSTOWSKI, I think he goes by Freshsox, but there's no reviews for his business and he's missing on all social media as he works off of referrals. In retrospect, that should raise alarm bells. A good videographer who cares about clients would open themselves up to feedback online, in addition to being referred. He has closed those channels and from our experience, we can see why. He did Carmen's wedding for a discount and offered us a rate of $5k for an 8 min highlight reel and 1 min trailer, which apparently is a discount, but who knows as rates are never posted in the wedding industry. However, after Covid cancelled our wedding and we were looking at new options, he took advantage of the situation. First he told us, he will raise our rates if we postpone, but he doesn't know by how much. In my opinion, this is a sign that he does NOT have his business together or care about his clients to do this during a PANDEMIC. Finally, he came back and said he wanted to charge us $1000 more...a full 20% surcharge above our $5k cash deal because we were unlucky enough to have our wedding cancelled by covid. He also said most of the vendors he talks to also is doing this, even though the vendors that I hand selected did not and were wonderful during this time. However, he was a referral from Carmen. He was dismissive when we tried to meet him halfway. After 2 months of stress and waiting for him to respond to our emails or of him avoiding our calls, he decides we don't deserve our money back and is trying to keep our $2500 deposit. Clearly after what he has done, he created a situation in which it was impossible to trust him or want to have him on an important day like our wedding.

It's a difficult situation for all of us, but he chose to make it even more difficult. I wont go into the specifics, but he's not returning our $2500.

Based on this circumstance we are all in, his contract requires that he returns our deposit if he can't perform due to an unforeseeable situation like a pandemic, but based on what we've seen, his biggest focus is money not how clients feel about what he's doing.

Our learnings are, even if you are referred by someone, or they are touted as a 'pro' in the industry, it's hard to trust someone if they don't have real reviews. Honestly...we wish we were given better choices of videographers during the selection process. He said he shot for a Raptor in Miami and insinuated it was Chris Bosh to help win our business, but we never validated this. It's easy for people to say whatever when they don't have reviews or the work posted publicly. For your wedding, don't just look at the video portfolio, but keep in mind who you're hiring. It's that whole genius, but a jerk notion. You want to work with someone who is a genius, but also trustworthy and wont take advantage or is tough to work with during the worst of times. Because who know what can happen these days.

The wedding day came out perfectly, and it was exactly what I dreaming for. We hired Carmen as month of coordinator. Because we would like to design our wedding by ourselves, and Carmen shared lots of good advice and thoughts with us. We believe hiring Carmen was one of our best decision we made for.
