Well worth the cost!
Lauren was our Day-Of Coordinator for our wedding in June of 2024 at Hycroft for an approx. 65 guest sized wedding. Due to budget, we didn’t have a planner, a wedding party, or a florist (aside from renting an artificial floral wedding arc). Instead, we added several vendors for guest entertainment and did a lot of DIY decors that we brought to the venue ourselves.
Even though this meant our wedding would have many moving pieces, my husband originally didn’t want a DoC either due to the cost. I convinced (argued with) him that it’s not only for our peace of mind, but also to give our family and friends a stress-free day instead of asking anyone to do odd jobs at our wedding.
Now that the wedding is over, he will admit that I was right about hiring a DoC. First of all, Lauren from Encore Events was simply the biggest sweetheart! She was soft-spoken and excellent in reading the room, knowing the right timing to approach us for something but never raising any alarm. She put out fires for us in the background and executed our game plan with precision. She arranged/put up our DIY décor for us better than I had hoped for. She was promptly on time in the morning and stayed later than expected to help search for our missing cake-topper (unfortunately, it never did turn up).
My advice for you if you are considering hiring from Encore Events is to clearly communicate in the initial interview what your needs are. Since we hired a DoC, we understood it meant that the entire planning had to be done by us, and the plans have to make logistical sense. We communicated our plans and expectations directly with our vendors ourselves. These plans were relayed in detail to our DoC in the 3 virtual meetings she arranged with us before the wedding, and she had them flawlessly actualized on the wedding day.

Whonnock Lake Wedding
We had the best experience with Eron and Stephanie at our October event. Professional, knowledgeable and for me of most importance, they were able to provide information due to their expertise and address any concerns we had to calm nerves instantly. Stephanie was a joy to have at our event. She was professional, capable and has an eye for decor set up. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a stress free day in order to concentrate and enjoy the very special moments of their wedding day.We had the best experience with Eron and Stephanie at our October event. Lauren was exceptional on our wedding day. She was really helpful in providing ideas during our meetings and super accommodating to all of my last minute ideas. On the day of, she executed everything perfectly and then went above and beyond (bringing us a plate of canapés because we spent all of cocktail hour taking photos, bringing me my blazer when it started to get cold, lining up for dessert for us). Many of our wedding guests complimented Lauren and I would highly recommend her!Lauren was exceptional on our wedding day. She was really helpful in providing ideas during our meetings and super accommodating to all of my last minute ideas. Eron did an amazing job as our wedding planner! I would highly recommend her to any of my friends getting married. She has a lot of experience, and has connections to a lot of great vendors. She also did an excellent job of staying within our budget. She did a great job of helping us get everything organized, and made my spouse and I feel almost entirely stress free leading up to the big event. She was there to help set up the day before, and was also there for our entire wedding day, and did an amazing job of coordinating everything on the day of. Above and beyond
I hired Encore events for the day of the wedding to help with all of the organizing and last minute details to take the stress off, when Eron showed up she took over with everything.

Summer Wedding - Day it Coordination & Decorating
The decorations were beautiful. It was done all so perfectly I would recommend the decorating to anyone. We received LOTS of compliments. However the organization & coordination was not the best. The timing was off for almost everything especially for walking down the aisle. My Husband didn’t get his song (which he wanted for when he walked down the aisle)
The mother/son dance song was played during the cocktail hour and my husband had to run over and change it himself.
Coordinator was nowhere to be found after ceremony to get bridal party & photographers organized to leave ( we left 45mins late for photos )
It was our bridal party’s first time being in a wedding and there wasn’t much communication for what they should do. (My maid of honour wasn’t told to fluff out my dress at the alter) I feel like there could have been better communication on the day of (every time we went to find our coordinator we couldn’t) We do acknowledge that things don’t always go smoothly and perfectly and our Coordinator was super sweet it just feels like we paid her to decorate tho. :)The decorations were beautiful. Thank you Olivia for the great input and yes, we love Lauren as well, she's one of the best! It was unfortunate that the DJ had some errors with the timing of the music. Lauren had reviewed the timeline with him during our vendor confirmations and again on the day of the wedding, however, this would definitely be something to discuss directly with your DJ that you had hired. Lauren also did remind your sister to fluff your dress at the rehearsal, in fact your MOH responded that it would be a good idea to practice.
Day of Coordination is often handling the little fires you dont always know about. In this case, I beleive Lauren was very busy handling the transistion from ceremony to reception and your vendors, including fixing bathroom units, gathering family for photos and ensuring the food the caterers were placing in the sun was being moved to the shade.
In the end, the event was beautiful, the fires were handled by Lauren and she ensured everything was on time and. I hope that helps you understand the work that was put in to make your day special as it was. Wishing you both all the best!

The day itself and the wedding planning went fine, but Encore Events could've done better.
My husband and I hired Encore Events to provide day-of coordinator services for our June wedding. Overall, the day itself and the wedding planning went fine. However, we found that working with Encore actually made things more challenging for us in some aspects; ultimately, we were more hands-on than we expected to be on our wedding day, which is disappointing for the cost that we paid for their services. There were several issues that arose during the planning process and wedding day:
Firstly, Eron, our point of contact at Encore, frequently canceled our meetings at the last minute. It seemed like she often forgot about scheduled appointments and needed to reschedule, contacting me only on the day of to inform me she wouldn’t be able to make it. Even after rearranging, she still arrived late for a couple of them. This lack of punctuality and reliability already concerned me and didn’t give me much confidence in the team. Moreover, Eron often overlooked details that had already been discussed in email threads with vendors and contracts, including fundamental aspects like the end time of our event. On one occasion, she even sent me wedding details meant for another bride with the same name. These occurrences indicated a significant lack of attention to detail during the wedding planning process.
One particularly frustrating incident was the coordination of decor drop-off. Eron requested us to deliver the decor early to the venue, assuring us that she would handle everything from there. However, on the day, she was unprepared and didn't have the necessary equipment to move the items. As a result, our point of contact had to assist with bringing the items into the venue, which was unexpected and inconvenient, as we hadn't informed them of this change in plans. Proper communication beforehand could have prevented this issue.
The teardown process was equally problematic. Eron failed to inform us that our venue didn't allow for garbage disposal, and the teardown fee we paid didn't cover this aspect, which we were not informed of beforehand. We had provided a point of contact for decor pickup only, and Eron had not briefed us for the fact that this person would also be responsible for removing the garbage from the venue. Consequently, the contact we provided wasn't prepared to handle the garbage removal, leading to our bridal party having to step in and arrange for the garbage to be taken away in several guests' cars. This was highly disappointing and unacceptable.
In addition to all of the above, poor communication was a concern raised by one of our vendors. They found Eron to be either uncommunicative or inexperienced, which resulted in difficulties handling certain situations leading up to the event.
Again, while the day went reasonably well, I can't help but feel that the Encore team could have done better. Their lack of attention to detail, communication issues, and oversight of crucial aspects left us feeling dissatisfied with their services. We genuinely appreciate our guests' involvement in helping with the teardown, but we believe that this shouldn’t have been necessary and we could have hired another team at a lower cost, and they might have performed just as well, if not better, than Encore did.

Good morning Sharon, Its very disappointing to hear of your feedback and its unfortunate you feel Encore is accountable for these concerns. Please allow me to clarify.
We began our communications for your wedding in March, this is general timeline for Day of Coordination preperation for a wedding scheduled in June. I did have to reschedule one of our meetings due to a late day at a wedding, and yes there were challenges with both our schedules and availability as you had cancelled 4 meetings as well, but we were able to reschedule and still meet in March with ample time.
We then had an abundance of communications leading up to the wedding and we assisted with solutions to many challenges we had at the venue. These challenges included suggesting storage of the desserts in cooler bags with limited fridge space at the venue as the desserts would be delivered earlier in the day, as well as ensuring the venue stuck to your contracted bar closing time on your contract which was an error for them, but we ensured you got the extra time as indicated on your contract.
We were on a very limited time frame for set up of your event which was ready on time. There were two family members that were delegated for delivery of your decor when we arrived, when they arrived the service elevator at the venue was out of use, so we assisted them getting belongings to the main elevator, however we could not do full load in as we needed to start our work in the room. To be clear, we do not offer load in or load out, this is indicated on your agreement, but we did the best to assist with the timeframe we had, and the tasks we were hired to do were priority for your day. In conclusion, the reception was fantastic and everyone enjoyed the day. As I went to connect with your delegated contact who was responsible to remove all your items at the end of the night, he advised he was not aware he was responsible for the task and had taken an uber to the venue. I brought this to the grooms attention and explained we needed to pack up and tear down by the specified time or the venue would charge you overages. The groom said he would delegate the wedding party to take the items home. All of the personal belongings were set aside for the group to take and they did, and all the rentals were packed appropriately in their containers they arrived in and picked up by rental teams. Please be reminded, the venue does not allow storage of any items overnight and all garbage had to be removed as well as per your contract.
With the above clarification of the evening, events of the day and communication leading up to the day, I hope you will see you hired a great team with Encore Events and we managed everything as well as anyone could, considering the circumstances. We problem solved, handled challenges and got the job done, however your wedding party had to take on the removal of the personal items as there was no one correctly delegated and equipped as you had said you had arranged with us prior to the event.

Wow! We brought Encore onboard for the “Day of” package thinking we had everything under control and just needed to meet the venues requirement for having a planner.
Lauren exceeded our expectations in every area.
