Meet the team
Amanda is Anishinaabekwe (Indigenous woman), a wife and mother. Her origins are from the Odawa community of the uncedded traditional territory of Wiikwemkoong First Nations (in Ontario). Amanda was raised on the West Coast and would like to acknowledge and thank the traditional territories of the Semiahmoo, Katzie, Kwikwetlem, Kwantlen, Qayqayt and Tsawwassen First Nations for allowing us to live & do business on the land.
Through this journey of building an events and marketing company, Amnda has learned so much. Her ability to harness her creativity, organizational, and planning skills has allowed her to heal and care for herself. Now she feels so much pride in what she has accomplished, not only with her company, but also in all the steps she has taken to get here.
In addition, Amanda is passionate about giving back to her community and reclaiming her culture through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. By bringing together Indigenous and western cultures, Amanda believes we will be able to achieve effective collaboration in our world. Throughout her life, she has done this on her own, and it’s now an integral part of her business. Her goal is to do more than sell services, she wants to bring value to her community and the lives of others.
5% of all services and packages through Ikwe Social will be donated to the Native Womens Associaiton of Canada.
