Detail oriented, professional, worry free.
Usually it's brides on here who do the reviewing but I, the groom, an amazon item review enthusiast, a committed reddit lurker; needed to come give this glowing review on how Kelsey, was the best person, vendor, and I'd like to say friend now, that we could have chosen for our wedding in Banff. We hired her as our day of coordinator but she exceeded our expectations more than we ever would have imagined by far.
We are a couple from NYC that has never been to Alberta, but Banff was one of our bucket list destinations. We decided to plan this wedding through the travel ban, during the pandemic, all via the interwebs, sight unseen, and hope for the best. I was definitely against the idea of hiring a day of coordinator at first. I was all about the DIY. We weren't having a traditional ceremony or reception anyway. We could do it. Boy was I wrong. Really quickly I saw that I was a bit in over my head. We needed someone to bounce ideas off of. We interviewed a few coordinators but we really connected with Kelsey.
Kelsey helped guide us through the whole process. She gave us ideas on where our budget could be better utilized, helped us find our way through the area via google maps and gave us the ultimate tourist free first look spot. She helped us do research on things that we had questions about and was our boots on the ground. It was unreal what she did to help us get our trip off the ground and our day planned out. We connected with Kelsey via Zoom quite a bit prior to the wedding, and she made us feel so prepared, we were in such a good headspace heading into our trip.
What type of fairytale story would this be if nothing went awry? Our day fell right into the few weeks where travel was absurd in North America. Travel was horrendous out of NY for all of our guests, direct flights cancelled turning into layovers all over the continent. My brother in law had 2 flights cancel on him after spending 2 days sitting at the airport. A bridesmaid had to spent a night in Montreal after her second leg was canceled. Our photographer and DJ coming from NY did not arrive until less than 24 hours prior to the wedding. Let me tell you, the anxiety was thick; like the episode of Full House where Uncle Jesse goes skydiving and ends up in jail on his wedding day. Gotta love Full House. But on our special day, Kelsey was organized, incredibly detailed oriented, so nice and helpful to all of our guests and wedding party, and took care of all the big AND little bits and details that my wife and I had the most worry free experience to truly enjoy every part of our special day.
Before the wedding, many of my married guy friends tell me about what they learned from their experiences of their special day. How I'll have constant anxiety until the end, I'll be hungry I'll get because I won't get to eat a bite of the food, I won't really get to enjoy or see any of the things we set up/paid for because we'll be so frazzled and busy, I'll just get herded around to keep up with the timeline, how it ends in a blink of an eye.
Well, I can be that one guy that really enjoyed our wedding day, anxiety free, never rushed, ate every appetizer, main course and dessert that was served, got every picture we wanted, never felt like sheep, had an amazing time with every guest who attended, and the party ended with no one including us, wishing there was more time.
Kelsey, you were an integral part of this and we thank you!
