Meet the team
SkyLight Events Inc’s mission is to create experiences that allow people to “Celebrate Every Moment”. For founder Theresia Vughosu, this mission is an extension of her lifelong passion of bringing joy to those in her community. Growing up in Cameroon, Theresia’s first event planning experiences came when she was 15 and would help organize various events for her Family’s Business and their church community. Although it was something she enjoyed, Theresia understood the importance of higher education and by the age of 21 decided to leave Cameroon to pursue her master’s degree in the United Kingdom. After completing her degree and working in the UK, she immigrated to Canada where she spent time in Winnipeg, Nunavut, and Edmonton before arriving in Fort McMurray in 2020. Soon after arriving she became a member of the Christian church community, and it was here where she met her first clients.
As Theresia became more involved in the community, she noticed a problem with limit resources associated with hosting events locally. She took it upon herself to decorate several events at her church and finally to plan and host one of her friend’s wedding anniversary. To the surprise of many, she was able to host a spectacular event. This was all the encouragement she needed as shortly after her first event, people within the Community began requesting her services. That was when Theresia decided to go all in an create SkyLight Events Inc, and that is where she finds herself today. SkyLight Events Inc is the embodiment of Theresia’s passion for service, and her desire to bring others joy through creativity, hard work and dedication.
Theresia’s goal is to grow SkyLight Events into a valued brand within Fort McMurray and to introduce a new flair to events across the region. SkyLight Events offers top to bottom event planning, decor, and rental services for clients both big and small.
