  The set up was great, the coordinator was mediocre.

  The set up of our wedding was done very well, everything looked great. They even moved some items between our ceremony and reception sites.
  
  The coordination on the other hand left something to be desired. We had a meeting with Danielle a few weeks prior to our wedding where we went over a very detailed document containing all the information they would need for the wedding. During the meeting she was great. We all asked and answered questions and felt that everything was solidified for the wedding. Danielle also helped us run through our rehearsal which was very helpful. However she strongly recommended that we change several things from what we had planned. I found it stressful to make this many last minute changes as someone who was an anxious bride and felt that we had a solid plan. Then
  Danielle told us that someone else would be with us on our actual wedding day.
  
  On the wedding day Erika arrived at the bridal suite in the middle of us trying to take our getting ready photos and had several questions/concerns about the music and the speakers. This was not the time nor the place to be having this conversation. These issues could have been addressed weeks in advance at our meeting as they knew what our plan was for these items in advance and could have suggested alternatives at that time if they had concerns. I found it very stressful to be figuring this out last minute. This also put us behind on our timeline and ran into our photography time.
  
  HOWEVER, Danielle saved our whole reception by letting borrow a speaker when we had audio issues with our rented ones. Without that speaker we would not have been able to have a dance, and made booking with them well worth it. I would recommend renting speakers from them instead of Mountain Event Rentals to save yourself alot of problems!

  Amazing, Helpful, Talented, Organized Coordinators!!

  Danielle & team are fantastic!!!! I honestly don't know what we would have done without them. If I could give 10 stars, I would! They greeted all the vendors, setup our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception and after party. Their decor skills are incredible; they made us the most breathtaking flower petal aisle. Danielle ensured everyone knew what to do and explained everything at the ceremony rehearsal which was so helpful! On the day of, there was zero guessing, Danielle queued us and told us exactly what to do when. Thanks to this team we were able to focus on our big day & our guests because this fabulous team was so on top of things. 100% hire this team for your wedding, it will be the best thing you do.

  Fantastic value and attention to detail for day-of coordination and set-up!

  Danielle and team are so fantastic to work with! We hired Danielle to be our day-of coordinator for our wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. She did that plus so much more for us! I was very impressed with the value of service Danielle offered even in advance of the wedding. We were having an out of province wedding and she was willing to drive to Lake Louise to meet with us at our venue, no cost and provided very helpful feedback and came back to Lake Louise for the rehearsal the night before. She also offered multiple calls to discuss set-up options and traded emails on quite a few topics leading-up to the wedding including obtaining our rental quote.
  
  The set-up of our wedding was absolutely stunning! Danielle and team did an impeccable job brining all the decor items together and had excellent judgement in changing floral set-up for the ceremony (consulted with me on the change) and head-table set-up which both looked much better than my original plan. Her experience with weddings is very evident and I really appreciate her pragmatic, assertive approach when needed. She is well established in the wedding industry in Alberta and knew our other vendors well (DJ, Venue, Photographer). Her recommendations helped us assemble a wedding dream team and we couldn't be happier with the end product.

  Everything we wanted and more!

  Danielle was great to work with as we planned our elopement in Canmore. We started planning our wedding with Danielle about a year in advance. She was easy to talk to and was able to answer any questions we had. The process of planning was simple and quick as we had many options for each part of the day example restaurants, make up and hair, photography, and locations.
  The day of the wedding was everything we wanted and more. Everything went according to our planned itinerary, we loved everything about our day Danielle being there on the day was amazing and put us both at ease. My bouquet was beautiful, our photos are beautiful and everything we wanted. It felt like we were living in a fairytale. Our dinner at the Iron Goat was delicious and definitely recommend them for food!!
  Lastly our stay at the Malcolm hotel was lovely and couldn’t beat the beautiful views of the mountains from our room.
  Thank you for everything Danielle it is a day that we will never forget!!

  The Wedding of Our Dreams!

  My husband and I were recommended to Danielle at Something New because of the splendid work she did for our friend’s wedding! Since day one, Danielle took care to let us know all the options available, and even in her expertise, recommended ways to work around our wedding planning since my husband and I are based in different countries. Because we were pretty specific about what we wanted our wedding to look like, we sent Danielle our photo inspiration and mood boards. On our wedding day itself, we were astounded by the dedication and the care that Danielle took to bring our vision to fruition. We got so many compliments about how our wedding looked -- from the decor to the bridal bouquet. Furthermore, since Danielle had her hand in each little detail, we did not have to worry on our actual day and could really enjoy our wedding.   Perfect Mountain Elopement

  Something New made our day a wonderful and relaxing experience. Their services were perfect for our mountain elopement, and each vendor made us feel like our day was special. The day went seamlessly. and not worrying about a schedule added to the calmness of the day and truly allowed my partner and I to enjoy every minute.

  Love Danielle

  Danielle made our wedding day seamless. She took care of more than we will ever know behind the scenes so that we could just enjoy our day. It was great for us to not have to worry about vendor contracts and communication. It took all the stress out for us. Our whole weekend was perfect. We definitely appreciate Danielle and all the hard work she put in so we could have our dream wedding.

  Dream elopement

  My fiance and I eloped in Banff this July and Something New made the experience seamless and incredibly easy! Danielle, our coordinator, provided excellent communication, gave us tons of options for vendors, booked everything on our behalf including accommodations and dinner, and created a very clear itinerary for our special day. All we had to do was show up and get married! Our day was perfect and everything we imagined it would be. If you are planning to elope in Banff I highly recommend booking a package with Something New to make the experience as beautiful and flawless as possible!

  Dream elopement wedding

  Danielle took care of every little detail for our wedding day. It can be a little worrisome to plan a wedding that is another country but Danielle blew us away. Our vision came to life and was better than we could have ever dreamed. She even worked magic last second to get us pictures where we always dreamed. Thank you thank you thank!

  Planning Was Slow, Delivery Was Nonexistent

  Disclaimer: Before writing this review I did give Danielle (the executive planner I worked with during the entirety of the process) the opportunity to respond and make things right before posting.
  I hope this review provides a wider scope or "buyer beware" as I have seen approx 47 out of 50 phenomenal reviews, but 3 reviews just as mine will be. These things do happen no matter how thorough we are.
  If you are looking for a planner with speedy response times, she may not be the best. She will go 1-2 months between responses which was not ideal but understandable while you're still far out; but would also be that long (with multiple reach outs in between) even the few months leading up to the wedding.
  The day of the wedding was a complete let down. Even a month after, I am only looking back on the big day as disappointed with no joy. After spending four years planning with Danielle and extensive word-for-word guides, there were more things than not that did not go to plan. A few examples: the cake was the wrong colour, the toss bouquet was never ordered, our aisle runner wasn't set up, our decor was either put in the wrong place or wasn't put out at all. The stylists were an hour late (that said, they did send an extra stylist which worked out) and Danielle was not there to stage my husband and I for our "First Look" so it ended up being very chaotic and stressful. We did not get an explanation, "debrief" or anything afterwards.
  All wedding items were provided by us, in labeled boxes, guides with photos, and were ready to just be placed. There was little to no room for error. Things that were also confirmed on her end, didn't happen.
  While giving the courtesy to Danielle to make things right, I had to reach out 5 times over the span of one month trying to get a response. I am completely baffled. The response Danielle gave was very deflective and did not take any responsibility. A lot of the reasons she gave for why the day did not go smoothly were: the weather (the decor and aisle runner not working) or things not normally being included in the package we chose (these were things added on at my request by Danielle in her own itinerary she prepared, compensated for, and confirmed by Danielle prior to).
  We do thank Danielle for accommodating a quick rehearsal the day before at the ceremony site at no cost as she was coming from another wedding. This was helpful to get us prepared for the big day.
  Danielle sent a refund of $95 for the missing bouquet only to make things right.
  In my opinion that doesn't make amends for dropping the ball on the most important day of our lives and the response she gave was not apologetic.
  All in all, I will talk about our wedding day and how horrible the process/day was. I will not be recommending Danielle, even cautioning those to stay away.
  I wish things could have gone different!
