More than my dream
We are a covid wedding couple. We had planned our wedding back in 2018 to be set in Dominican for July 22, 2020. Now, obviously that was a bust due to covid. Our plans changed several times and finally we came to the decision to do a small wedding here in Canada. We chose Elora Mill because:
1. It’s absolutely STUNNING! The venue alone is incredibly gorgeous, perfect for photos, so many places to take photos inside and outside. Their “basic decor package” is absolutely breath taking!
2. The price was right! They offered a perfect elopement package that fit our budget. We were able to have a ceremony, reception dinner, couple dance, father daughter dance, mother son dance, and free dinner for the couple along with our cake, a bouquet for the bride, boutonnière for the groom, and a live stream for those that would not be able to make it due to numbers being low. This package allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams, while still having our guests attend- and also following the covid guidelines.
3. Everything was made so clear. From day one of planning, we worked with Raylene. She sat down with us and had a perfect questionnaire that covered the entire wedding. She went through everything with us and made sure we understood what would take place. On the day of, we had the events manager, Tyson. I cannot bring to words how amazing this man is! He was everywhere at once while keeping himself calm and professional. I had no idea he even left my side because he was always there to help when I needed it and to tell me what was happening next. He treated us like a queen and king and brought so much security to our special day.
We had no idea how amazing it would be until the day of. Throughout the process of planning the wedding, we had come across many challenges as covid restrictions were becoming more and more tight. Raylene and her team kept in contact with us to keep us up to date and made arrangements to make sure that our day could continue as how we originally had planned it.
The team went out of their way to make sure our day didn’t get ruined by covid. Unfortunately, in the end, we were not able to do our reception dinner but the team allowed us to do everything else in our ceremony area that it didn’t feel like we missed a thing! Tyson made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of and I couldn’t have asked for a better event manager to be on our team the day of! He made sure I got to our “first look” on time. He made sure my memorial pendant got put on my flowers before giving them to me, he made sure my fiancé was there on time, he made sure of EVERY LITTLE DETAIL! He did more than even know because he just took all the stress off of me for the day and he did EVERYTHING! And no I did not pay extra for him. His service was incredibly appreciated and needed the day of! Things would not have run so smoothly had he not been there.
At the end of the night, because we didn’t have our dinner reception, Tyson showed us to our room (which was IMMACULATE) and brought us our meals for the night, starting with salad. He even set ambient music for us to enjoy while we had dinner. Always checking to make sure we were happy and had what we needed.
All in all, I would do it again and again if I could. We will be going back just to visit from now on! It was an incredible experience. I would not have known covid ruined a lot of our plans as the day was made perfect by the Elora Mill Team!
