Meet the team
I moved to Calgary in 2013 after growing up in a small Alberta town. I studied Broadcast Journalism at Mount Royal University, where not only I learned the technical aspects of video production, but also how to tell a story. Documentaries are a passion of mine because they are honest, real, and informative. They bring a raw authenticity to the screen that people can relate with or find connections to, no matter the context. I take the fundamentals of documentary making with me into all of my projects, especially wedding videos. I want the couple to relive all the feelings they felt that day, and for anyone who missed to feel like they were in attendance.
I grew up in Calgary and became interested in being outdoors, geek culture, and sports by exposure from my parents. I'm very close with my family including one younger brother. After High School Matt travelled to New Zealand and lived abroad for a couple months. Upon returning I decided to go to school, and enrolled in the Broadcasting Diploma program at Mount Royal. While in school I was hired at the station I grew up listening to, Sportsnet 960 The Fan. Since then I've become a reporter and producer for The Fan, covering the Stampeders, Hitmen, and Flames. All the while I had my hand in a couple media companies and have been able to travel internationally through broadcast work, something I hope to continue doing for the rest of my life.
