Meet the team
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, I started dance and gymnastics at a young age. I loved the two so much that I eventually put them together and joined the sport of synchronized swimming at seven years old. Years of dedication and hard work earned me a spot on the Canadian Junior National synchronized swimming team, where I competed internationally and trained at the Centre of Excellence in Montreal, Quebec. While pursuing my dreams as a professional athlete, I developed back and shoulder injuries. At only 19 years old, I had to make the heart-wrenching decision to retire from the sport and focus on healing my mind and body. That is when I discovered yoga as therapy. Putting my athletic ego aside, I opened my heart to the practice of healing. I immediately fell in love with yoga, and went on to complete my 200-hour Hatha YTT in
Nelson, B.C. in 2012. Since completing my yoga certification, I have simplified my life and moved away to the beautiful Rocky Mountain town of Canmore, Alberta. I have also become an active member of the Aqualillies, a synchronized swimming troupe that performs in shows across Canada.
I have always dreamed of owning her own business and sharing my love for yoga and fitness with the rest of the world. The Canmore lifestyle inspired me to team up with business partner Aly Sudermann and make her dream a reality. Along with opening the studio I have recently finished her training with Ballet Barre Works. You can find her teaching a variety of barre classes at WildHeart. When I'm not practicing or teaching, I am spending time in the mountains (rain or shine) with my friends and wonderful dog, Lobo.
