About
Burning Kiln Winery is a wedding venue located in St. Williams, Ontario. This elegant winery sits on a former tobacco farm and has been carefully designed to preserve the historical significance of the property. Burning Kiln gets its name from the old practice of tobacco farming and curing. The wedding space overlooks the venue’s 26 acres of vineyards and rolling hills.
Facilities and Capacity
The winery is nestled on 85 acres of land near the shores of Lake Erie. Its position offers visitors panoramic views over the local landscape. From the vineyards to the famous Long Point peninsula stretching into the lake, there is no shortage of stunning vistas here. Weddings are held in the Vineyard Pavilion, a covered space separate from the winery. The large pavilion is spacious enough for events of up to 150 guests. Its glass doors can open to allow guests room to mingle outside. It features a private patio and sweeping views of the property, ideal for both ceremonies and receptions. You can also choose to hold your ceremony outdoors where the photo opportunities are endless.
Services Offered
Couples who hold their wedding here will have access to fine red, white, rose and sparkling wines. The venue also offers a selection of local beverages for guests who prefer an alternative to wine. Delightful regional dishes are available for catering service in many styles including buffet, stations, and hors d’oeuvres. The catering team can help create a custom menu with scheduled tastings. For the convenience of the wedding couple, a dressing room is located on-site to get ready. Additionally, the venue features accommodations that can be rented for the night of the occasion.
History
The discovery of grapes along Lake Erie is credited to French explorers Dollier and Gallinée in the 17th century. The two were the first to pioneer this region, and they stumbled upon a lush landscape where sweet grapes grew in abundance. They created wine from them and realized the result rivalled French varietals. Later, the land housed a tobacco farm, the kiln of which still stands today. The winery’s owners pay homage to the property’s past and continue to carefully maintain the kiln.

Meet the team
Hello! My name is Bobbie Jo and I am thrilled to meet you!
Prior to joining the Burning Kiln Winery team, as an entrepreneur running my own business, I successfully planned and designed many weddings and events. It was there I found my love for forming connections with people and engaging with others, often discussing weddings, drinking coffee or sipping red wine.
Whatever your vision, let's make it happen together!
Fun facts:
"Family First" is more than a motto for me - it's a lifestyle and as a crazy hockey & lacrosse mom, I am proud of it!
I love music, just don't ask me to name that tune.
If I'm not at work, you can find me by the water enjoying my paddleboard or just listening to the waves.
